Sydnee Carroll began dancing at 3 yrs old and her passion has only grown since. In June 2023, she launched the Elevé Dance Academy program. Her vision was to build a dynamic, inclusive space in the Atlanta area where minorities could access exceptional classical and conservatory-style dance training.
Her path to success was paved at Howard University, where she honed her craft in the Theatre Arts-Dance program. Sydnee didn’t just train; she also inspired future dancers by teaching youth classes at Princess Mhoon Dance Institute, Joy of Motion Dance Centre, and Center City Public Charter Schools in Washington D.C. Her impressive resume includes intensive training with Dance Theatre of Harlem, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Alvin Ailey, and Houston Contemporary Dance Company.
During her summers from 2017 to 2019, she leada vibrant dance camp for young children through DC Parks & Recreation, that Sydnee found her true calling. Her nurturing spirit and genuine love for working with kids transformed the camp into a truly magical experience, solidifying her passion for teaching.
My name is Maria Battista and I was born in Venezuela. I started dancing at the age of 7 years old and dance is part of the person I am today. I have trained and performed in a variety of styles with a focus on ballet, lyrical, jazz and tap. I have attended multiple competitions at different levels throughout my dancing career. I started assisting dance classes while attending my studio as I wanted to share my knowledge with kids. I then became a dance teacher for ages 4 to 10 years old and discovered a passion for teaching children and helping them be the best version of themselves. Dance will always have a special place in my heart and my ultimate goal is to have a positive impact in every kids’ life.
Maria began dancing ballet at the age of four, with Duluth School of Ballet. In high school, she was one of the founding members of Marist Dance Company, where she extended her training to include jazz and contemporary. While studying at the University of Georgia, Maria joined DanceFX, where she performed with contemporary, salsa, hip hop, and heels companies. This gave her the opportunity to train extensively in these styles and perform around Athens and Atlanta, including the halftime shows for Super Bowl LIII and the Harlem Globetrotters. She is currently continuing her training as a member of Creatives Company in Atlanta. In addition to performing, Maria has taught and choreographed children, adults, and senior citizens. She loves sharing her passion for dance with her students and watching them grow!
